Trust Your Heart, Not the Norms

I've been in the wedding business for a long time now and I am continually surprised by the number of brides who are so very worried about making sure their decisions fit within the world's view of what is normal.

My take on weddings tends to be a little more liberal. I love weddings because they are personal. They are about the bride and the groom. So, staying with that thought, I think the dress a bride picks, the accessories she chooses, even the shoes she wears... should all be choices she makes because she truly loves them. They make her feel beautiful. They make her dreams come true.

After all, when it is all said and done, the important thing is really that the couple is married and they thoroughly enjoyed their special day.

Blessings. Sarah

Bridal Fair Craziness...And Fun

We are so excited here at Kari Lynn's and UnVeiled. This Saturday and Sunday we will be at Century II in Wichita for the Bridal Expo. The week has been crazy getting the dresses ready, figuring out which accessories to pair with which wedding gown, setting up the booth and so on. But the really fun part comes when we get to chat with hundreds of brides getting married in the coming months and years.

There is nothing better than to meet someone and just know that we just might have exactly what they are looking for.

So, if you are free this weekend, come and see us at the Bridal Fair!

Have a blessed and wonderful weekend!

UnVeiled: Uncommon Bridal Finery

After months of planning, UnVeiled opened our doors in Wichita, this week. It has been quite an adventure. But, one thing I have learned is that by focusing on the smaller details, I've managed to not to be overwhelmed by the bigger picture. I understand the concept of not sweating the small stuff, but sometimes its the small stuff that makes life so amazing.

And that is what we are all about at UnVeiled. We help you find the small details that makes your wedding day so amazing. So, our new slogan is...Don't sweat the small stuff, but Embrace them. Love them. As much as we do.

If you have a chance, drop by UnVeiled at 521 East Douglas, located in the Historic Eaton Hotel. Or give us a call at 316-882-3633. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The Little, but Perfect Details

Good grief. How time flies. It has been awhile since I sat down to write a post. So much is happening as we work toward opening our new wedding accessories store, UnVeiled: Uncommon Bridal Finery, in Wichita on January 2, 2013.

I have to say how very excited I am to add this store to what we offer at Kari Lynn's. I am learning more and more about how important the little details are in this life. And those details can make a simple dress look so stunning -- an elaborate dress even more special -- and a princess gown even more perfect. As in life, we use the little details to add our lasting touches on the very special days of our lives.

The Men are Coming

I run a bridal and prom store. We are very used to having female customers. But, every prom season, we get overrun by men -- needing measured for tuxes, picking out tuxes and trying on tuxes. I am always reminded how different the sexes are during this time. And that's part of the fun. We love seeing those guys head our way and we especially love seeing them look so fabulous in their tuxes! Mention this blog and get 15% OFF your tux. Limited time. So, bring on the men and have a very blessed day. Sarah

New, Fresh Twists on Traditions

I was talking to a former bride the other day and she mentioned how boring her wedding seems now in comparison to what brides are currently doing. Her sister is using wheat in her boutonnieres. I loved the idea. And as I was looking on the internet this morning, I found pictures of the sister's ideas (from marthasteward.com). I love the use of fabrics as the leaves and the idea that not all of them have to be the same. What a wonderful way to personlize your wedding. The joy of the internet....new, fresh twists on traditions. Have a blessed day. Sarah
